Overlooking Table Mountain with green pastures all around, old majestic trees framing the farm.

The best part... long beautiful thatch roof milk stalls renovated and ready for the CY team to transform into destinations you won’t want to miss!

One of the old farms of Durbanville, Welbeloond was originally used as an outpost by Jan Van Riebeck. The Homestead was built in 1785.

The Mellish family arrived on the farm in 1905 and were dairy and wheat farmers until 2000, when the first block of vineyard was planted. The farm now has 35 hectares under vine. The majority of the grapes harvested are sent to Durbanville Hills as Welbeloond is one of its nine producers. Only the best fruit is reserved for this boutique wine label.

The first wine under the Welbeloond label was made in the season of 2007 by qualified winemaker Andrew Mellish. With construction currently under way for a new cellar, these are exciting times in the history of Welbeloond.
